Began his architectural career as a pupil articled to FLH FLEMING of BAKER & FLEMING in Johannesburg from 1918 until 1921. In 1919 he enrolled as a student under Professor PEARSE at the School of Architecture at the University of the Witwatersrand where he studied from 1919 to 1924, and graduated with a Diploma in Architecture in March 1926. He continued to work as an assistant to Fleming from 1924 to 1928, lecturing in construction and theory of structure at the School of Architecture at the University of the Witwatersrand from 1925 to 1926. He appears to have made a special study of Anglican churches (Fleming was Diocesan Architect for Pretoria and Johannesburg) since his article on Anglican church architecture (1929) provides a useful overview of the subject. No buildings by him have so far been recorded. In 1959 he was working as a valuer for the City of Johannesburg. By 1969 he had retired to Ramsgate, Natal, where he died.
