HYND, William Born: fl. 1923 Died: 1972 Architect SACA: Reg No: 319 Year registered: 1927 Also sometimes spelt HIND. TPIA (1927); ISAA (1927). Hynd worked in the Provincial Architect's office in Pretoria in 1934; he had joined the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT in 1923 as an architect, temporary staff; he was appointed permanent staff in 1930 and promoted to senior architectural assistant in 1935 in the Transvaal Provincial Administration. In 1959 he is recorded as being with the Cape Provincial Administration although still recorded as a salaried member of the Transvaal Institute. He retired in 1968. In 1969 he is recorded as a retired member of the Transvaal Institute although his address is given as D2 Ventnor House, 213 Main Road, Three Anchor Bay, Cape Town. He resigned from the Institute of South African Architects in 1972.
