Award of Merit Citation
The brief for offices and seminar rooms for a firm of road engineering practitioners is modest, as was the budget, but the design response turns simple and direct planning into a architectural set-piece. This project demonstrates an understanding of the play of materials, textures, light and shade in the treatment of the facades as well as both internally and externally made this project. There is a sense of spaciality and connections to site and landscape surrounds which makes it site specific and respectful of its suburban setting, which is merit worthy.
