The son of Saul MARGO, he trained at the School of Architecture, University of the Witwatersrand from 1931 to 1933. In 1933 he joined the office of HANSON, TOMKIN and FINKELSTEIN, leaving to continue his studies at the University of Liverpool School of Architecture in 1934 from where he qualified; during this period he toured Europe in 1935 and Palestine in 1937. By 1938 he had returned to Johannesburg. He joined his father in partnership. P BREEDVELD, witness to HD Margo's application for associate membership of the RIBA, was a member of this partnership (cf. MARGO, BREEDVELD and MARGO). By 1959 BREEDVELD must have left because the practice was then MARGO and MARGO. ISAA 1937; ARIBA 1938.
