NUNN, AV, with HWE STAUCH

Established: 1935
Ended: 1943

Architect

The partnership between AV NUNN and HWE STAUCH commenced in March 1935 and continued until 1943 and played a considerable role in the introduction of the modern International Style into Pretoria. STAUCH was obliged to practise with Nunn to start with as he had no recognised qualification, registering as an architect in South Africa in 1946. A note in South African Architect (Dec 1944:315) reads that Marchie Mansions was carried out by Stauch as Nunn's assistant and not in collaboration with Nunn.
