J PERRY and WJ DELBRIDGE, were associates on the National Mutual Life Assurance Building of Australasia in Cape Town, an addition to the building originally designed by BAKER & MASEY in 1905/1906. In 1933 the Architect, Builder & Engineer (Aug 1933:10) commented on the National Mutual Life Assurance Building as 'perhaps the largest city building in course of construction (in 1933) ... the work has attracted much public attention because of its dignity and solidity.' All truncated references not fully cited in 'References' are those of Joanna Walker's original text and cited in full in the 'Bibliography' entry of the Lexicon.
