Menu Home Upfront Now Up Books Towns Structures People Firms Lexicon TEUBES, Andreas Georg Hendrik Born: 1792 04 02 Died: 1858 09 02 Architect A pupil of Anton ANREITH's at the Technical Institute in Cape Town founded in the Masonic Hall - Lodge de Goede Hoop, TEUBES is said to have been the first architect born and trained in South Africa. ANREITH said of him and his fellow pupil, Abraham AURET, 'in freehand drawing he could exhibit in Paris or Rome'. There are no identified works by him, as yet. (Leacock 1963:355, 444).
