WEGERIF, Johannes ChristiaanBorn: fl. 1890
Emigrated from the Netherlands in 1890 as a superintendent (opsigter) (Ploeger etc, 1989: 230). In 1894 Wegerif applied for the conditions of the proposed competition for the new Government Offices (the Colonial Offices Building) for Pietermaritzburg. It is assumed that he was an architect because he is also recorded as having been responsible for the Dutch Reformed Church at Springbok in 1919.
