Became an architect and practised in Cape Town. He was the son of John George Douglas HOETS (1880-1970) and Gladys Fielding nee Orpen (1884-1966) (FS). In 1959 he is recorded as a retired member of the CPIA but probably in the employ of Stocks, Ramsay and Associates of address 2041 Hamilton Street, Saskatchewan, Canada.
