McINTOSH was born in Ardrossan, Ayrshire, Scotland, and came to South Africa as a child in 1882. He was later apprenticed to Charles FREEMAN in Cape Town and became a chief draughtsman in that office. In 1899 he left to set up practice on his own account in Cape Town. In 1905 he entered into partnership with JC HASWELL (cf HASWELL & McINTOSH) in Cape Town where he was also in 1912 but by 1915 he was listed working with the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT in Pietersburg (Polokwane), Transvaal (Limpopo). McIntosh enlisted for active service on the outbreak of the First World War. Nothing more is currently known about his career. List of projects With photographs
