Born at Ermelo, son of WW Haak. He received his training at the Pretoria Technical College and tertiary education at the University of the Witwatersrand, thereafter the University of Pretoria. After his education he spent four years in the employ of architects. Thereafter he and his partner started their own practice. After three years he abandoned the profession. In 1958 he joined the family business, Haak’s Garages (Pty) Ltd while remaining a retired member of the TPIA where he is recorded in 1959 and a969 as of of address PO Pretoria, Transvaal. He married Joey Botha on 6 December 1952, by whom he had a son and daughter. In 1967 his address is recorded as 25 Station Road, Lyttelton, Pretoria, Transvaal. References ISAA. 1959.
