WINTERS, Jurrie

Born in Assen, Drente in the Netherlands. Recorded (Ploeger & de Kock, 1989: 236) as leaving the Netherlands in 1889 at the age of 32 accompanied by a wife and three children. His original trade was as a carpenter. On 1 July 1894 he was appointed as Draughtsman to the DPW of the ZAR under WIERDA on a salary of £300 per annum. On 1 August 1895 he was promoted to Supervisor in a temporary position at a salary of £350 per annum but died a month later.
