DREYER, Francis Louis

Born: 1900 08 10
Died: c1980

Architect

SACA:
Reg No: 449
Year registered: 1928

Born in Stellenbosch, nothing is yet known about Dreyer's training but his address in 1927 was c/o P Rogers COOKE, Anmercosa House in Johannesburg. He appears to have worked as accommodation officer with the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT until he left to enter into partnership with PR Cooke in 1945 (cf COOKE & DREYER). Dreyer seems to have looked after the Pretoria end of the business. Central House at the corner of Central and Pretorius Sts, Pretoria was designed by Cooke and Dreyer in 1948.

By 1959 and again in 1969 he was recorded as a salaried member to the Transvaal Institute in the employ of the DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS in Pretoria.

(ISAA mem list)

Submitted an entry for the Competition for the new Prime Minister's Residence - unplaced.
