KIRBY, Ronald Hubert

Born in Lusaka, Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia). Schooling at Lusaka Convent (1940-1944), Muir College, Uitenhage (South Africa, 1945-1952). He was awarded the Muir College Bursary for his studies in architecture at the University of Cape Town School of Architecture (1953-1959).

In 1960 he joined the partnership of Montgomerie and Oldfield, from 1962 styled MONTGOMERIE OLDFIELD KIRBY with the suffix of the locality of their offices, namely Salisbury (then in Rhodesia, now Harare, Zimbabwe); Lusaka (Zambia); London (1964-1968); Blantyre (Malawi) in 1966. In 1975 they set up an association with APT PARTNERSHIP and in Cape Town with Elliot, Grobbelaar.
