Born in Milton, Massachusetts on July 12, 1895, Buckminster Fuller was a renowned 20th century inventor and visionary, who dedicated his life to making the world work for all of humanity.

He visited South Africa in 1958 at the invitation of Paul CONNELL and, together with students, carried out a geodesic research project inspired by the indigenous Zulu indlu or beehive hut.
