Also referred to as FINK, Nathan Isaac, after changing his name in the 1950s.
Was a student at the School of Architecture of the University of the Witwatersrand from 1927 to 1931; he spent a number of vacations in Britain, and on graduating with a Degree of Bachelor of Architecture in March 1932, became a partner in the firm HANSON, TOMKIN & FINKELSTEIN. His main interests were in administration and technical and construction methods. In 1935 he was elected an associate member of the RIBA. Finkelstein contributed greatly to the high quality of the work of the partnership, one of the leading South African firms of the mid-twentieth century. He left this firm in June 1950. The same year he changed his name to FINK and later entered into partnership with H MOROSS, the form being styled FINK & MOROSS. He worked in association with G HERBERT in 1960.
