A firm with Carl Gustav Wilhelm VOIGT as principal of the engineering firm W VOIGT ENGINEERS AND COPPER WORKS. It was established in Paarl and at its height employed 150 men. The firm made and/or assembled the first bicycles in South Africa and were known for their exquisite wrought iron work for buildings and graves. They made cast iron Poorte (doors) and cast church bells. Products made at the Paarl works carried the "Voortrekker" brand name.
