In her thesis the promovenda analysed the application of Community Action Planning to the work undertaken by students in the Honours programme over a four-year period to establish whether such application could assist in addressing identified key factors that contribute to the profession's marginality to the discourse on informal settlement upgrade. Findings from the research indicate that such an approach could assist in developing transformation in the pedagogy and praxis of architecture.
