Also referred to as VAN DER RUIT.
Born in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht in North-Holland. Trained as a carpenter in the Netherlands. Emigrated to the ZAR in 1888. He was responsible for the extensions to the Johannesburg Law Courts in 1890, and various NZASM stations including Park Station (1899), a locomotive roundhouse at Heidelberg (c. 1890s, demolished), Klerksdorp Railway Station (1895), and stations and other buildings along the South-Western Line.
He died on the 1st of January, 1943, in Springs, South Africa. List of projects With photographs With notes
