He came to South Africa in 1936, and registered as a member of the Institute of South African Architects in 1937, working in JC COOK & COWEN's office in Johannesburg. By 1945 he was working for the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT but transferred to the Transvaal Provincial Administration's architectural office in 1951 in Pretoria, living in Milner St. At some point he went into private practice on his own account in George in the Cape, he retired in 1977.
