Studied Architecture at the University of Cape Town School of Architecture. After graduating he opened his own office and started a small contracting company in which time he was invited to teach at his alma mater. In 1978 he joined the full-time staff of the Department of Architecture, acting as studio leader and in time heading up the BAS under-graduate programme.(Righini 2000: back cover inner-flap).
