Contemporary student of W Duncan HOWIE and David Edwyn CLARK who, in the early 1930s, were taught in their early years by Rex MARTIENSSEN at the Wits School of Architecture, those whose 1932 student projects 'are in the main stream of the International Style, with a heavy dependence on the Bauhaus' (Herbert 1975:67).
