Harris studied architecture at the University of the Witwatersrand where he graduated in March 1936, with a Diploma in Architecture. He joined the Institute of South African Architects in the same year and practised in Johannesburg from this date. He was in partnership with RW GREEN from February 1937 to December 1938 (cf HARRIS & GREEN).
