Born the eldest of two sons and children to Walter George Jury (1897–1984) and Violet Ellen nee Millard (1902–1989) in Turfontein, Johannesburg, Transvaal (FS). Recorded in 1959 as a salaried member of the TPIA in the employ of COWIN, DE BRUYN and COOK of address PO Johannesburg, and in 1969 he is recorded as a registered practitioner still in their offices of address 101 Portland Place, 37 Jorrison Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, Transvaal.
