R2 Stamp - 1982 07 15 from Fourth Definitive Series First Day Cover Caption with stamp: R2 Union Buildings, Pretoria The executive power of the RSA resides in the Union Buildings on Meintjeskop in Pretoria. This imposing edifice was designed by Sir Herbert Baker and was completed in 1912. Transvaal sandstone and Pretoria granite were used, and the roof and floor tiles were manufactured in Vereeniging.
