Click to view large map Coordinates: | A bridge on the Selati Line over the Sabie River. Extant and maintained but no longer in use. In 2020 an old train was moved onto the bridge and converted into a luxury hotel called the Kruger Shalati Train on the Bridge. The nearby Huhla Railway Station is used as the restaurant for the guests. ------------------------ In 1883 plans were approved for a railway line linking the Soutpansberg and main Eastern line from Pretoria and Maputo. In 1901 the temporary wooden bridge was washed away in a flood. In 1910 the bridge was opened for railway traffic with the Selati Line being officially opened in 1912. (Source: Kruger Shalati) |
