The graveyard was probably established in 1888 with the burial of two NZASM Railway engineers, JE VAN YSENDYK and GH VAN DER MEULEN, who died of malaria within months of arriving from the Netherlands. The graveyard is now incorporated into the Komatipoort Golf Course.
