A noteworthy large single storey house with symmetrical composition to main street frontage. A covered veranda set between two gables, with central gable over main entrance, incorporating the name of the house. It appears, from the side elevation, to be an extension to an earlier house. The house is located directly opposite the Town Hall and the gables of the two buildings are aligned, suggesting that the building may have had a more public use or been the home of a prominent member of the community. Another house, at no.50 Sarel Cilliers Street, is of a similar architectural expression and of similar date. It is likely the two houses are by the same architect. (Gerald Humphrey, 2016)
