In 1960 begin beplanning aan die kerk. Die argitek J. Koelewyn van die firma Geers en Geers is aangestel om die plan op te stel en J.J. Grabe as bouaannemer. Op 18 November 1960 is dié tipiese kappiekerk se hoeksteen gelê en in April 1962 is dit amptelik in gebruik geneem. (Morné van Rooyen, November 2917) The planning of the church began in 1960. The architect J. Koelewyn of the firm Geers and Geers was appointed to draw up the plan with J.J. Grabe as contractor. On 18 November 1960 the foundation stone was laid of the typical tent church and it was inaugurated in April 1962.
