Significant as being the first completed central building linked with the Strand Concourse underground pedestrian movement system. (Rennie 1978:157) The individual tiles and the overall panel were designed by James Hall (also known as James O. Hall, or Jim Hall), sculptor and ceramicist. He designed these tiles for Corobrik when he was design consultant and glazing consultant for the company.
