This is an extensive ACVV hospice. "It is said to be the work of A de Witt although, if so, he stuck more closely to the vernacular than in most of his other work." (Fransen 2004:264)

"The towering moulded gables rest on a balustraded pediment above the decoratively plastered façade. The front is somewhat spoiled by the display windows on the ground floor which were set back in the 1980s to accommodate future road widening; a threat which has been successfully averted by the local Heritage Foundation. It is still one of Paarl's most imposing buildings. There is an 18th Century well behind the building enclosed in a small domed building in the Cape Malay style – the last remaining of many such wells in Paarl." (A Walking Tour of the Historical Heart of Paarl)

The building now forms part of a Senior Citizens' retirement complex.
