"Many sources state that Cullinan House is the only remaining example of the Art Nouveau style in Johannesburg. It was built in 1910 by Sir Thomas Cullinan (of Diamond fame) for his brother-in-law Mr Joseph Mitchell."

(The Heritage Register, accessed 2021 01 27)

The statement in The Heritage Register is misleading. The note also is misrepresentative on the fact that there are many variations of Art Nouveau. It is also questionable whether the Cullinan House is rather Arts and Crafts rather than Art Nouveau? and if its leaning is towards the Art Nouveau, it is of the British or the Glasgow school of Art Nouveau.
