Click to view large map Coordinates: | This church building was built in 1864 as the second Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk in Aliwal North. The municipality subsequently bought the church in 1925 from the NGK for 2 000 pounds and later used the building as a Municipal Market. In November 1987 the municipality decided to restore the building for use as the "Kerkplein Museum". (William Martinson, May 2023) One of the museums in Aliwal North, the other one is the Public Library Museum. On either side of the main hall reproduction shops have been built to represent a street. |
