Fort Harlech is situated in the suburb of Monument Township. This double-storeyed blockhouse is rectangular in plan (8,65 x 6,25 m externally) with the corners cut off. It is flanked by two single-storeyed angle bastions, also each with the outer corner cut off, though they are of a more generous size than those in the Vereeniging pattern. The roof of the main building appears to be a more recent addition, and those of the bastions are missing. The upper floor of the main building is also gone, although the wall offset is visible.
