Navarre was designed to provide additional accommodation for students. It is named after the French King Henry of Navarre, who ruled from 1589-1610 and was a protector of the Protestant churches. House Navarre continues to be a men’s hostel: for the Boland College of Education after 1961, and for CPUT (Cape Peninsula University of Technology) since 2005.
