The building stood on the south-eastern arm of the Table Bay harbour's new basin. According to the club's website, "plans for the new Clubhouse was [sic] submitted in 1931, the keys were handed over in August, and on the 12th of September the Clubhouse was officially opened." In view of the foreshore reclamation project, the club vacated the building in March 1941, and occupied a shed until the present clubhouse at the new yacht basin was completed in 1950. The site of the old clubhouse is now covered by the Cape Town International Convention Centre. (Arthur Radburn, June 2023)
