Click to view mapCoordinates: Alt: 1748m | | The five-storey building was opened for worship 56 years ago on the 15th of October 1967. The existence of the Methodist Church in Johannesburg can be traced as far back as the 1880s and has had nine superintendents:

3. Rev. Dr. Mvume Dandala (1992 - 1996)
4. Rev. Dr. Peter J Storey (1976 - 1991)
5. Rev. S.G. Pitts (1965 - 1975)
6. Rev. J.B. Webb (1942 - 1964)
7. Rev. Arthur S. Clegg (1936 - 1941)
8. Rev. William Meara (1919 - 1935)
9. Rev. J. Glynowr Davies (1915 - 1918)
Name Changes:
- The church opened its doors in 1880 under the name President Street Church and was located on the corner of President & Kruis Streets.
- In 1919, it moved to the corner of Pritchard & Kruis under the name Central Hall.
- In 1966, the current building was completed and the Church moved to Pritchard & Smal Streets under the name Central Methodist Church.
- In 1985, under the leadership of Rev. Peter Storey, the name changed to Central Methodist Mission.
