The St Mary's Hall was erected in ca 1900 and was initially used as the St Mary's Anglican Church Hall. From 1903 to 1909 the Department of Education rented the building from the church to use it as a school. In 1917 the TGME bought the structure form the Anglican Church for the purpose of a Town Hall. From 1918 the building was also utilized on weekends as the St Mary's Hall Bioscope.
