Highwick - Wytham Kenilworth, Cape Town, Western Cape KENDALL and MANSERGH: Architect 1928 alterations

(SAB Aug 1928:45; Pryce-Lewis list 15 414) When the Stellenberg estate was subdivided in 1886, Henry Beard bought a 15ha portion and built a house which he named 'Highwick'. The estate was broken up after his death in 1926; James Stratford bought 5ha and the house, which he altered and renamed 'Wytham'. Alterations were done by KENDALL and MANSERGH. The remainder of the estate was subdivided into 'Highwick Township', and sold off in 23 lots in 1928-29.
