It includes a multi-purpose hall that can seat 1,200 people, a large committee room, a glass-enclosed restaurant, cafeteria, tea terrace, paddling pool, swimming pool, and change booths. The palm trees were sourced from a farm in Philippi. The architect, when confronted about the colour of the roof commented, "It represents the medieval concept of a pavilion which had gayly striped roofs and adds a gay atmosphere to a building designed for people to enjoy their leisure time. It will be completed in record time and is a credit to the building unit, Mr Hans Smit and his team." |
