A constructed random rubble marker bearing an interpretative plaque inscribed: "Baobab Hill." In the period 1919 to 1927, Black workers were recruited in Mozambique for the Rand gold mines by Paul Neergaard of the W.N.L.A. [Witwatersrand Native Labour Association] organisation. They were transported on foot, on donkey cart, or ox-wagon from Pafuri to Soekmekaar. This was the first outspan of their journey. [See also Kruger National Park : Memorials and markers].
