(AB&E Aug 1938:17; Pryce-Lewis list item 16 403; SAB Sep 1938:67; SAB Feb 1939:70) This building, erected by the Claremont Club on a portion of their property, housed a post office, public library, bank, shops and offices. Later bought by the United Building Society and known as 'United Building', it was demolished c1979 to make way for a new UBS building.
