"Gedurende die tyd wat HA Fagan met Queeny Theron getroud was, was daar in Tulbagh twee NG Kerk-gemeentes, die Tulbagh- en Kruisvallei-gemeentes, maar die dorpenaars het altyd van die Onderkerk en die Bokerk gepraat, wat na die geografiese liggings van die twee kerkgeboue verwys het. Die Onderkerk was die ou gemeente en die Bokerk ’n betreklik nuwe gemeente, wat egter in Fagan se tyd reeds goed gevestig was." "At the time when H A Fagan married Queeny Theron, there were two D R Church congregations in Tulbagh, the Tulbagh and the Kruisvallei congregations, but the town’s people always spoke of the Onderkerk and the Bokerk, which referred to the geographical locations of the two church buildings. The Onderkerk was the old congregation and the Bokerk a fairly new congregation, although in Fagan’s time it was already well established."
