Trompetter’s Drift Fort and Fortification Ringwall.

The fortification was named after the Khoikhoi (Khoekhoen) Captain, Hans Trompetter, who had his settlement at this fort. It was built to protect the ford and serve as a base for patrols operating in the thickly wooded vicinity.
