From the Klein Constantia website:

1980: Duggie Jooste buys Klein Constantia from Ian Austin and decides to revive the farm to its former winemaking glory with the help of Professor Chris Orffer of Stellenbosch University. Winemaker Ross Gower and architect Gawie Fagan begin work on the new cellar, which is finished just in time for the 1986 harvest, winning a merit award from the SA Institute of Architects, who describe it as 'a sensitive adornment to an important historical estate'.

1993: Duggie Jooste is awarded the Cape Times Centenary Medal for his outstanding contribution to the preservation of the Cape's historical and architectural heritage through the restoration of Klein Constantia estate.
