With Municipal offices.

On October 7, 1955, the new town hall and municipal offices, which were completed at a final cost of £38 000 (R76 000), were officially opened by Mr W Slater, the then Provincial Secretary. With the Mayor, DMC Greyvenstein, taking the lead, the full costs of erection were collected from the inhabitants of the town and district, thus relieving the Municipality of any liability whatsoever.
