The editors Bakker, Clarke and Fisher, with the assistance of Swart undertook a number of lengthy and extensive field trips to discover what remains of the built legacy of the old ZAR. While there is remarkable survival there is also decay, neglect and deliberate vandalism. The photo-essay by Clarke reveals what, once lost, has been found and its current state of preservation or ruination.
