Engineering and Architectural Association of South Africa

Engineering and Architectural Association of South Africa was founded in 1882. Although it contains the words 'South Africa' it is noted that the country did not exist and so this probably served the interests of the named professionals of the Cape and Natal Colonies although it is recorded that they petitioned the ZAR Volksraad in 1893 the for the statutory recognition of engineers and architects, which rejected this. Among the founding members were:

ALEXANDER, George Murray;
ALEXANDER, John William;
KNOX, Edward Baldwin John;
RANSOME; George
It was superseded by the Engineer, Architect and Surveyor's Association.
