Lexicon Architect and Builder, The (periodical) _____________________________________________________ August 1917 - July 1918. Publication of the African Architect ceased in the war years of the First World War. When architectural publishing recommenced towards the end of the War, the Cape launched a publication under the banner of The Architect and Builder. It was a propriety journal but had the official sanction of the Cape Institute of Architects, unsurprisingly, with its President as Editor WJ DELBRIDGE (1917), who had helped found the magazine and was assisted by SNAPE as co-editor of the periodical which the latter had also helped found. The title was changed to The Architect, Builder and Engineer in 1918.
