Agterhuis or agterkamer (back room)

_____________________________________________________

A room behind the voorkamer (front room) in a T-plan [See Alphabet plans] or in a 'two-rooms-deep' house. It is also used to describe the room behind the voorkamer of an I-plan house [See Alphabet plans], but more often this room was called the galderij (gallery) because it afforded access to the other rooms of the house.
